About the Books

The Shattered Ceiling

The Shattered Ceiling, is a collection of ten interviews that I have done of eminent women pioneers in Indian Industry. These women have shared their leadership story and their rise up the corporate ladder, for the very first time. Each interview is accompanied by a resume of the lady and a synopsis of the important points called “My Take”.

I have been fortunate that the following ladies have unreservedly answered all my questions on how to balance work life, how to choose career, how to hold onto their own strength at the workplace, whether marriage and career can mix:

1. Deena Mehta – Founder of ACMIIL, First lady trader and first President on BSE.

2. Sucheta Shah - Independent Director on Various Corporate Boards and MSME Chair of FICCI FLO.

3. Vijayalakshmi Chhabra -The first lady Director General of Doordarshan and and now an Insta influencer advocating Saree.

4. Anita Khurana -The first lady to be appointed as Commercial Director in Indian Airlines / Air India post-merger.

5. Panchali Mukhopadhyay – VP Sales and Marketing Herbalife

6. Kresha Bajaj Entrepreneur - Of the Love lehnga fame

7. Sushmita Chakraborty Among the first few women professionals to reach Director level position in IT Industry - CSC India
